Description
Cheryl Munyan, a potter from Burnsville, NC enjoys using her talent to make representations of old buildings. Using clay, she constructs buildings and other sculptures that bring back the past. After living throughout the country working for the National Park Service, she and her husband retired to Burnsville. In 2017 she began her journey in ceramics. After taking a beginner’s class, an intensive class at Penland School of Crafts, and a lot of experimenting, her style began to emerge. With her love of history and vast travel, she realized that the emotions she felt when seeing neglected homes and farms needed to be expressed.
